Kevin and Cristina's Capers

Up and down - We have felt the depths and the heights this winter. In January we experienced -25'C and then the next week in February it was 15'C (unheard of!). It snowed quite a bit and then it all melted, creating a slushy mess everywhere. Indeed our garden doesn't know whether it's coming or going, and this week the Tulips are poking their noses above ground. When it was very cold we were able to stoke up our log fire (using that tree we had brought here!!) which made the cold weather bearable.

Joshua's tournament - One weekend Joshua's basketball team (7-9s) had a tournament here with teams from several counties involved. They played a crunch match against Cluj and just won by a few points. It made all the difference and they came away champions. Kevin managaed to film some of the tournament and will be showing it soon to the team. We all continue to be big Mures Basketball Club fans and they have been playing very well. We go to most matches here and have got to know the players quite well.

New term - As you may remember we have opened our Reghin branch full time with the arrival of Jon and Margot Nairn, the couple from Tasmania, Australia. (You can read more about this at
http://wegoglobal-com.web20.winsvr.net/dotnetnuke/roesle/goromaninews/tabid/498/Default.aspx ) The result is that Kevin has spent some time in Reghinas they have forged ahead at the school. Just last week, he and Jon, visited a number of businesses and factories in the town looking for Business English clients.
Of course, Kevin continues to manage the school and minstry in Targu-Mures and as it all grows he finds himself ever busier.

WV visit - In January we had a visit from our Head office from West Virginia, USA. Mick and Mary Ann, CEO and founders of Global Outreach stayed with Kevin, Cristina and Joshua. We had a very good time with them even if it was fleeting. It gave us a much better of idea of who we are communicating across the ocean with! and helped to put names to faces. We were also able to bring them into lessons and to take them to most of the ministry sites we work at.

Joshua's Bit: Basketball, basketball, basketball. It seems to fill a lot of my spare time. If my team, BC Mures, is playing away, sometimes mummy and daddy let me stay up to watch it on TV! And now, the snow and ice has gone I can go out and shoot in the hoop in the courtyard. Only, occasionally the ball goes on the very soggy lawn and I have to sneak across it to get it back...it gets very muddy!

Prayers answered: We have two new teachers arriving in April. Sean and Victoria will replace Einer, who leaves after 18 months here and two other part-time teacher missionaries who will be leaving. Also, James. (The son of Jon and Margot in Reghin) has decided to stay in Romania and teach! PTL

pray for Kevin to manage his time well as the two schools expand
pray for health and safety for us all over the spring
Pray for Joshua as he continues at school
Pray for students to become Christians, especially Em.
Praise God for all our new staff! And Thank God for the ministry and work of those who are leaving
